Methodology
Our methodology has been designed around 2 core objectives:
To teach young students the enduring hard and soft skills that enable creative problem solving and teamwork, which are necessary for long term academic success
To assess rigorously the program’s effectiveness through research to enable continuous refinement and enhanced impact
We believe the Arts serve as a unique gateway to self-discovery and self-confidence. Art has been a universal vehicle for exploration, experimentation, and expression. We advocate for the integration of Visual Arts into every child's formal education, aligning with established theories by luminaries such as Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky, as well as, contemporary insights from neurodevelopment and psychology.
The Olivia & Leslie Foundation maintains that creativity thrives when bounded by constraints, and we openly embrace the notion that encountering challenges is an integral part of the learning process. Our mission extends to supporting students facing the “I can’t syndrome” and assisting those in need of guidance with fine motor skills, comprehension, and time management.
Each lesson plan is thoughtfully structured to engage advanced thinkers with high visual and spatial awareness, while simultaneously catering to the individual growth of all students. Moreover, we incorporate at-home extensions for every class, enabling students to extend their learning beyond the classroom and into their daily lives.
